About the program

Ailey Dance for Active Aging is a joyful 60-minute dance workshop for older adults. This program is designed to keep you moving through choreography that includes gentle stretching, mobility exercises, and creative expression.

Participants are invited to share life stories and express them through movement, building creativity, community, and social connection.

Whether you’re a lifelong dancer or a complete beginner, these workshops are for you!

Events

In partnership with organizations dedicated to elder wellbeing and other community partners, Vivo Performing Arts will offer 14 Ailey Dance for Active Aging events, serving up to 25 participants each.

Some events will be private, for residents of centers and members of particular organizations, but others will have limited capacity for participants age 65 and over from the public.
