(For Immediate Release, February 25, 2026, Boston) Vivo Performing Arts (formerly Celebrity Series of Boston) announces that the recitals by cellist Sheku and pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason scheduled for March 12 at Groton Hill and March 13, 2026 at NEC’s Jordan Hall have been cancelled.

Sheku’s ongoing recovery from finger injury is taking longer than anticipated and with huge regret, he must withdraw from all his concerts through the end of May 2026. He is extremely disappointed to be unable to play in Boston and Groton Hill as planned. They were concerts he was looking forward to enormously, and he hopes to return to Boston soon.

Ticket holders will be contacted by the Vivo Performing Arts Box Office and will automatically receive a refund, and subscribers will be given the option to receive a refund, exchange into another performance, place the value of their tickets on account, or to donate their ticket value.

The Groton Hill performance was generously supported by Eleanor & Frank Pao.

The Jordan Hall performance was generously supported by Rabb Family Foundations.

ABOUT VIVO PERFORMING ARTS
Vivo Performing Arts (formerly Celebrity Series of Boston) was founded in 1938 by pianist and impresario Aaron Richmond. For more than 87 years, the organization has introduced Boston audiences to extraordinary performers across orchestral and chamber music, vocal and piano artistry, dance, and jazz in the city’s major concert venues. Guided by a belief in the performing arts as a source of curiosity and joy, Vivo Performing Arts collaborates with artists, audiences, and neighborhoods to create experiences that strengthen connection and invite discovery. Through education programs, community partnerships, and public performance initiatives, the organization works toward a Greater Boston where the performing arts are a valued, lifelong, and shared experience—on stages, on streets, and in neighborhoods throughout the region.
