Join the fun

Your Let's Dance Boston experience begins with a free 45-minute lesson from top local dance instructors before you dance the night away to music by a live band.

The full schedule, musicians, and instructors will be announced this summer, but we can give you a hint: get ready to Salsa, Lindy Hop, line dance, and more!

No partner, special clothing or shoes, or previous dance experience is required at Let’s Dance Boston: just a willingness to have fun!

About the Event

The Let's Dance Boston basics: what you need to know to get there and have a great time!

No, Let's Dance Boston is completely free and open to all. We invite you to sign up for reminders and updates for the evenings you're interested in, but you can just show up ready to learn and dance!

Nope: you can just show up ready to make a new friend or two!

For the evening events, your lesson will be from 6PM to 6:45PM. After a quick break, the live bands go on at 7PM and play for 90 minutes until about 8:30PM.

For Sunday's event, the Soul Line Dancing lesson begins at 3PM, and the band goes on at 4PM. The party winds down at 5:30PM.

Bring your water bottle and fill it up at the free City of Boston water truck!

Wednesday through Friday, Night Shift on the Greenway, at the corner of Summer Street and Surface Road, will be pouring beer, wine, seltzer, and non-alcoholic options until 8PM.

Food trucks are TBD, but we'll update you when they're confirmed.

Accessibility

wheelchair icon Dewey Square Park is an accessible, ADA-compliant venue, regularly maintained by Conservancy staff.

Paths are made of ADA-compliant gravel, and all areas of the plaza are flat, with some sections of grass and dirt. All dancing takes place on our wooden sprung dance floor, where all shoes and attire are welcome.

The dance floor is raised approximately one inch above the surrounding grass. A ramp for step-free access is located on the side of the dance floor closest to the entrance and beer garden, opposite the band, instructors, and mural.

Dance instructors and the band perform on raised platforms in front of the dance floor for easy visibility and Vivo Performing Arts staff members are happy to help with sightline questions if needed.

An accessible restroom is located on the concrete plaza near the main entrance. Select food trucks may stay open during the event, and nearby businesses inside South Station and around the Greenway will also be open.

asl icon Vivo Performing Arts offers sign language interpretation upon request. Requests must be received at least four weeks before the event by contacting Vivo Performing Arts at 617-482-6661 or boxoffice@vivoperformingarts.org.
