London Symphony Orchestra
SIR ANTONIO PAPPANO, Chief Conductor
MAXIM VENGEROV, violin soloist

Symphony Hall

The London Symphony Orchestra returns to Symphony Hall for the first time since 2009, now under the electrifying leadership of Chief Conductor Sir Antonio Pappano. The evening begins with Beethoven’s Violin Concerto, brought to life by one of the world’s great violin virtuosos, Maxim Vengerov, whose playing unites commanding power with extraordinary poetic sensitivity. The program culminates in Strauss’s Ein Heldenleben, where Sir Antonio Pappano—a conductor whose operatic soul runs deep—unfolds a sweeping orchestral epic, painting vivid portraits of love, longing, and hard-won triumph that will leave you breathless.

“The London Symphony Orchestra played with phenomenal virtuosity. ”
