Next-generation standouts, the Isidore Quartet are at an exhilarating place in their career. Competition wins and young-artist accolades launched them, but it's their tight playing, great taste, collaborative spirit, and passion for sharing chamber music with a wide audience that have made them one of the most exciting and beloved ensembles around. Cellist Clara Abel, a fellow Juilliard grad who shares a lineage of mentors with the founders, became a full-time member of the quartet in October 2026.

After Britten's witty neoclassical Divertimenti and the grief-stricken outcry of Mendelssohn's Quartet in F minor, they team with pianist Jeremy Denk for Brahms' Piano Quintet. Piano and quartet face equal demands in this masterpiece, and the artists offer an electric stylistic interplay: the Isidores' emotional directness in conversation with Denk's searching restraint.

“We want the quartet to feel like a playground: a place to experiment, follow an unexpected idea, and discover where the music can go. ... Making music with friends should be fun, and we think that sense of enjoyment gives us the freedom to be curious, take risks, and surprise ourselves.”

The Isidore Quartet

“A focus and command beyond their years—the sweeping coherence and blazing virtuosity of their narrative had the audience leaping to their feet. ”
