Junction Trio
Stefan Jackiw, Jay Campbell, and Conrad Tao

NEC's Jordan Hall

STEFAN JACKIW   violin
JAY CAMPBELL   cello
CONRAD TAO   piano

Violinist Stefan Jackiw, cellist Jay Campbell, and pianist Conrad Tao are three of today’s most compelling soloists, and the Junction Trio is what happens when all three are in the same room. Beethoven’s “Ghost” Trio, with its legendary, otherworldly slow movement, opens the evening; a new work commissioned for the Trio by Andrew Norman follows; and Shostakovich’s Second Piano Trio—one of the most wrenching works in the chamber repertoire—closes it.

“Three stupendous musicians who glory in artistic instability, the sense that styles are not pure or settled practices and never were. ”
